Corbeil Named Head Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach

March 26, 2014

Lincoln, IL – The Lincoln College Athletic Department has named Keith Corbeil as their next head coach for men’s and women’s swimming and diving at Lincoln College.

Coach Corbeil enters his first season with Lincoln College having coached the past eight years at high school teams and age groups throughout western North Carolina. His coaching career began in the AAU ranks for summer league swimmers in Michigan where he went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Ferris State University.

Success in a sport begins in the classroom, as Coach Corbeil experienced firsthand while teaching athletes as a professor in the Construction & Technology department of Ferris State.  He returned to his consulting and performance management business where he developed the Corbeil Leadership Model which was implemented in corporation and agencies as well as on the Cherokee Indian Reservation; and now into several swim programs around the country.

Coach Corbeil received his Master’s degree in Project Management from Western Carolina University where he entered back into training athletes. He has coached students who are now in Division I and III programs.

He is a member of USA Swimming and trained and competed in the U.S. Masters National meet in 2012. His organizational skills and commitment to student success was evident in his team’s recent success at the State Finals where one of his student-athletes earned the State title in the 200 IM and received All-American consideration.

Lincoln College Athletic Director Dave Klemm said, “We’re excited to have Coach Corbeil coming on board.  We are looking at returning our program to the national status as it was just a short time ago.  We believe Coach Corbeil has the background and experience to do just that.”

As a Head Coach, Corbeil has the knowledge of the individual sacrifice it takes to be successful between the lane lines and in the classroom.
